Summary

We are seeking an experienced driven National Account Manager to manage the Ready to Cook Sales & Merchandising activities at Walmart. This includes people management, goal setting, building and executing the sales plans to drive profitable growth, volume and share growth. This manager is the key contact and communicator for the Company on this business while establishing strong customer relationships with the account base. The ideal candidate will embody and work to maintain the core Perdue Values of Quality, Integrity, Teamwork, and Stewardship. Product lines include fresh and frozen ready to cook case ready and deli.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements a National Account sales plan to include all divisions within the account. Attains all budgeted product line volumes, price, mix and share levels. Prepares and presents business reviews and new items.  Monitors daily, weekly, quarterly and YTD relevant customer metrics.
  • Implements and champions procedures to continuously improve the accuracy of the Demand Plan forecast. 
  • Manages all expense budgets including staffing, overhead and programs. Manages the utilization of the TPM system to input and monitor customer programs to control spending and attain results.
  • Works cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, QA, Supply Chain & Executive Management to ensure effective communication and problem solving.  The National Account Manager is a member of a team and, as such, must work in coordination with all stakeholders for optimal outcomes for the Company and the customer.
  • Utilizes the principles of the QIP, team management and Supply Chain initiatives to guide the account.
  • Travels, as needed, to store and club locations to stay abreast of the marketplace, help support items and/or resolve issues.  
  • Participates in a leadership position on special projects and cross-functional teams.  Continuously improves skills participating in classes and seminars as deemed necessary in the developmental plan.  

Experience Requirements

Bachelors degree in the areas of Sales, Marketing, or Business Administration plus 10+ years related work experience (CPG industries and/or Meat/Poultry).

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3 - 5 years customer experience (Walmart/Sam’s Club) required.
  • Prior supervisory or management experience including managing, recruiting, and evaluating sales associates.
  • Strong analytical skills, coupled with mastery of sales communication.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft applications.
  • Extensive experience with data driven execution, utilizing syndicated data (i.e. Circana/ Nielsen), and customer specific data insights (i.e. Retail Link/Luminate).
  • Should anticipate 20% of their time in travel.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

  • Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
  • When in a plant environment:
    • Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which metal and plastic grating surfaces. 
    • May be exposed to temperatures of 28  degree to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. 
    • May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. 
    • May be exposed to noise ranged of 50 db to 100 db. 
    • May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. 
    • Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job a s directed by the Company.
