Summary

 

The Director Brand Strategy and Planning is a leadership role that is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies that drive brand awareness, familiarity, consideration, and conversion, while delivering a unified message across all brand marketing channels. The position will set the strategy and guide the execution for marketing initiatives, lead a team of marketing professionals, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment across goals and objectives.

 

This position is based in Salisbury, MD at Corporate Headquarters.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  

BRAND STRATEGY AND PLANNING

  •  Creating and aligning the brand strategy with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Developing a clear brand positioning and messaging strategy.
  • Overall communication planning, strategy & investments.
  • Leads development a touchpoint strategy spanning all media to reach the target audience.
  •   Responsible for media buys and partnerships to maximize exposure & drive efficiencies.
  • Transitions key initiatives and objectives to shopper marketing
  • Conducting market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities and threats.

BRAND VISION & STEWARDSHIP

  • Partner with product marketing to establish brand elements based on portfolio roles & benefits
  • Translate brand positioning into winning consumer communication

DIGITAL CONTENT DEVELOPMENT

  • Partner with Digital marketing to develop digital strategy connected with Brand / Portfolio strategy

PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS

  • Manage the execution of marketing campaigns and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with creative teams (both internal & external) to develop compelling and on-brand content.
  • Ensure consistency in branding and messaging across all media platforms
  • Track and analyze the performance of marketing campaigns.
  • Report on key performance indicators & ROAS making data-driven decisions to optimize media strategies.

LEADERSHIP

  • Hire, train, lead and develop a team of professionals
  • Develop and maintain strong and highly functional matrix management relationships across departments.
  • Stay current on industry trends and emerging media technologies in the ever-changing media landscape to adapt strategies along with leveraging new opportunities 

Minimum Education and Experience

 

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA preferred

 

The ideal candidate will also have:

  • 7+ years of Progressive Experience: in marketing roles, with a focus on leading marketing & media strategy, planning and framing critical initiatives, execution, and measurement
  • Proven Experience: developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies, campaigns, and initiatives
  • Balance Strong Strategic + Analytical Approach: ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven marketing decisions
  • Creative Mindset with Passion for Innovation: demonstrate behaviors and examples of staying ahead of marketing trends
  • Measurement: strong business acumen and understanding of performance, financial implications and ROI/ROAS linked to marketing initiatives
  • In-depth Marketing Channel Knowledge: PR, earned media, social media platforms, content marketing, all media channels
  • Demonstrated Management + Prioritization Skillset: ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong Leadership Skills: track record of successfully managing and developing high-performing marketing teams
  • Excellent Communication + Interpersonal Skills: effectively collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and senior executives

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
