Summary

Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule (daily and/or weekly) for selected plants and species. The Supply Chain Planner is responsible for utilizing Company resources efficiently and filling customer orders.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Creates and maintains the Organic/ Specialty Crops Production Schedule.  These plans must meet the daily and forecasted production needs within all PAB facilities, 3rd Party Facilities, and outside customer’s needs.

  • Reviews forecast with department merchandisers/ traders to alleviate issues such as product demands or capacity constraints. 

  • Works with sales and operations planning team. Must maintain good open communication between corporate team in Salisbury and management at respective PAB and 3rd party feed mills, elevators, warehousing, ports, and transload sites.

  • Monitors organic grain/ oilseed positions daily and communicates/ plans/ executes with guidance from management the most effective solution for the supply plan. Demonstrates the ability and reasoning for optimum choice on a solution.

  • Prepare and execute supply plans with little supervision for organic/ specialty crops operations and other business groups. Knowledge & understanding of the PAB facilities & customers operations, production, storage capabilities & inventories are a requirement.

  • Execute truck, rail, barge, and vessel logistics in fulfillment of purchase/sale contract terms for internal and external customers. Duties include inter-company contract entry and execution. Coordinating on-farm logistics from purchase contracts within the department.

Minimum Education

  • Bachelors Degree - preferred

 

Experience Requirements

  • 5 - 7 years related work experience or in the absence of a Bachelors degree- 12 + years of experience.
  • Working knowledge of Supply Chain and SAP as it relates to inventory and the master production schedule.
  • Must be able to travel overnight to customer/vendor locations and/or plants.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

  • Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.
  • Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment.
  • May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
  • May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
  • Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
