Perdue AgriBusiness is seeking an Sr Business Systems Analyst to join our team in Salisbury, MD. The position will be a part of team that responsible for design, development, and implementation of new systems and technologies as well as support and enhancement of existing systems.  You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to analyze business requirements, evaluate existing systems, and propose innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to learn business processes.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the analysis, design, and implementation of complex IT systems and solutions.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and document requirements, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of existing systems, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Develop detailed system specifications, including architecture, functionality, and integration requirements.
  • Design and execute test plans to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of systems.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices, evaluating emerging technologies for potential adoption.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance system performance.
  • Collaborate with IT infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of systems.

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience preferably with studies in Information Technology, Computer Science or Business Administration 

Experience Requirements

  • Knowledge in systems analysis, programming and systems development methodology. 
  • Must possess strong communication, interpersonal and project management skills. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, as the position requires direct communication with end users and business leaders. 
  • Must be comfortable working in a team environment. 
  • Ability to travel occasionally, possibly overnight, to any customer area, which could be any Company facility or to a remote site or to a training facility or conference. 
  • Strong SQL knowledge is required.  
  • Proficiency in software development methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.

Experience Preferred

  • Experience in VB.NET, Python, R, Dataiku, Snowflake and Power BI
  • Experience with Commodity Trading and Risk Management (CTRM) systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management
  • Experience with DycoTrade CTRM
  • Experience with Salesforce
  • Knowledge of Data Analytics concepts and tools is a plus
  • Prior use of Jira software
  • Understanding of agricultural business industry and processes

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

  • Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment.
  • When in a plant environment:
    • Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
    • May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degree to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
    • May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
    • May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
    • May be exposed to all chemicals found in poultry, food and processing plant.
    • Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
