Summary
Perdue is looking for an experience Grow Out Manager to support our Butler, GA team. This indivdual will provide leadership, training, and coaching to the Broiler Grow Out Department through, but not limited to, budgeting, goal setting, interviewing, hiring, growing programs, bird health and feeding programs to meet the company’s goals and objectives.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- This individual will manage all program requirements to ensure all PastueBird SOPs are being followed on a daily basis. Manage staging, placement and movement of ARCs. Coordinate and oversee all maintenance on ARCS, equipment and grounds.
- Develop and monitor annual operating budgets, growing programs, feeding schedule and other various measurements to ensure the success of the department in meeting company goals and objectives.
Have the ability to provide leadership, training and coaching to all subordinates and producers to ensure all policies and programs are being met.
Ability to communicate and act as a mediator between subordinates, peers, management, producers and non-company personnel to ensure that all sides have a clear understanding of company policies and all disputes are handled fairly.
Comply and follow company requirements regarding bio-security, food safety and poultry welfare programs and policies at all times.
Minimum Education
- High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience Requirements
- 3 - 5 years of direct experience.
- Good communication (oral and written), reading, math and analytical skills.
- Must have a valid driver's license. Should be computer literate with skills in Microsoft.
- Must be able to organize multiple protocols/projects and complete on schedule.
- Ability to develop protocols and processes and deploy.
- Ability to analyze and resolve problems at both a strategic and functional level.
- Must be able to communicate at all levels of the organization.
- Must be able to travel to other facilities and plant locations.
Experience Preferred
BS degree in Animal Science or related discipline
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
1. Must be physically able to work in all locations including hatcheries, feed mills, chicken houses and processing plants. 2. Exposed to seasonal weather conditions as well as significant amount of airborne dust, feathers, 3. When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company. 4. Exposure to chicken manure and associated odors, including ammonia, especially in the production houses. 5. Required to perform moderate physical exertion to include pushing pulling and lifting up to 75 lbs. 6. Must be able to climb to a height of 30' as well as significant amount of bending, lifting and stooping.
