Summary

Join our team as a Wastewater Offal Operator on the 1st Shift! We’re looking for a detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to upholding the highest standards of quality and safety. As a Wastewater Offal Operator, you will be responsible to operate, clean and adjust equipment, prevent spills and removal of bi-product trailers from offal area.

  • Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure supply needs are met

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintains and cleans shakers and tumblers by spraying a high pressure hose (240 psi) on the shaker every 15 minutes and the tumbler once an hour.
  • Performs minor preventative maintenance and equipment lubrication by checking oil levels and belts as needed.
  • Transfers blood onto tankers by taking a 6’ hose 4” in diameter and placing it into blood tank, open wheel valve and visually monitor levels.
  • Covers loads prior to removal from work area.  Obtains ladder and by turning crank clockwise to extend canvas cover.
  • Notifies drivers by phone when bi-product loads are full and need to be removed.

Minimum Education

  • High School or equivalent beneficial but not required

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

When in a plant environment:

  • Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces
  • May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity
  • Ability to move within OFFAL area, up and down steps and work in a wet environment
  • May handle products from 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit
  • May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 dB to 110 db
  • May be exposed to dust, feathers and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility 
  • You must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company
  • Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm 
  • Able to stand for several hours
  • Work may include lifting (up to 50 lbs.), reaching, bending, pushing boxes on conveyor assembly
