Summary
The overall purpose of this position is to manage the daily operations of inventory related tasks along with the hourly associates who are responsible for performing the various inventory tasks. The Lead must also ensure adherence to all Perdue, USDA, QA, HR, and facility management standards of quality, production, safety, ergonomics, and other related facility and department goals and objectives.
Schedule: 12 hour shifts with Rotating days
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Leads the scheduling and work performance of hourly team members (staffing, attendance reporting, and disciplinary actions to be handled through Superintendent and/or Plant Manager).
- Ensures completion of various inventory tasks, including but not limited to:
- Compiling/reporting/distributing/disposing daily push list
- Performing daily inventory process
- Daily snap-shot reconciliation
- Maintaining cook plant vegetable inventory
- Handling of inbound receipts and movements
- Cycle counts as needed
- Warehouse organization
- Random pallet inspections
- Maintaining SAP reprocessor
- Other functions as needed
- Ensures development and cross training of team members.
- Attends and holds regular meetings to communicate and inform on inventory issues.
- Ensures the daily tasks are communicated and performed in accordance with standards.
- Holds the cognitive awareness of and the ability to physically perform each position within the department.
- Supports other functions within the warehouse.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Minimum Education
High School or equivalent not required but beneficial.
Experience Requirements
Worked a minimum of 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer within the past 3 years.
Experience Preferred
Lead or supervisory experience in production or distribution environment preferred.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
- May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
- May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
- Will be exposed to wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
- Will be required to operate pallet jacks and forklifts to perform job duties.
- May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
- May handle product 50 degrees Fahrenheit or colder.
- May be exposed to noise ranges up to 100 decibels.
- May be exposed to all chemicals used in a food processing facility.
- Must wear and use protective and safety equipment requires for the job as directed by the company.
