Summary

Our Rincon, GA team is looking for a strong leader to manage the day-to-day supervision of production associates to achieve required production and quality standards in a safe, efficient, and effective manner and for promoting and maintaining positive working relationships within the production group. A WPL Replenishment Supervisor must also assure all USDA, QA, facility management standards of safety, quality, production, ergonomics, Human Resources and other related facility and department goals and objectives. Ensures compliance of all necessary trainings and certifications, including but not limited to safety, QA procedures and policies, etc

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervises the work performance of hourly team members which includes staffing, attendance, work performances and disciplinary actions.
  • Communicates with customers, associates, and others to answer questions, address complaints and explain information.
  • Make hourly analytical checks on a variety of WPL functions.
  • Ensures development and cross training of hourly team members across 2-3 different positions for rotation and continual production.
  • Attends and holds regular meetings to communicate and inform on quality, production, safety items, etc.
  • Ensures the daily production goals are communicated and met in accordance with USDA, QA and company standards. 
  • Holds the ability to physically perform and cognitive awareness of each position within the department.
  • Supports facility High Performance Work Teams
  • Monitors product inventories.
  • Sorts and distributes workloads/ assignments to ensure effective and efficient completion of work.
  • Perform necessary tasks in SAP, SAFETY CHAIN, POWER BI, and ULTRASHIP related to safety, shipping, receiving, storage, and inventory.
  • Maintains clean and organized work area, including various housekeeping assignments.
  • Generate reports as required by the job.
  • Communicate with the Perdue Transportation, Logistics, Supply Planning, and Sales departments as needed.
  • Promote and maintain a positive customer service environment. 
  • Conduct and hold meetings and pass necessary information off to the next shift and deliver important information clearly and accurate.
  • Provide oversight/ perform training for all WPL associates across a wide range of topics. Ensure all required training is completed and current.
  • Provide oversight/ perform certification/ licensing for all DC associates for equipment operation. Maintain complete and current certifications/ licensing as required.
  • Perform investigation/ provide root cause analysis on accidents and near-misses.
  • Respond to associates’ needs and concerns related to safety issues as they arise.
  • Assist in safety audits/ inspections/ observations documentation.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Minimum Education

Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience in Poultry Science, Animal Science, Agriculture or related discipline.

Experience Requirements

  • 1-3 years work experience.
  • Should be computer literate with skill in Microsoft Office.
  • Requires experience with various industry accepted procedures, including HACCP, SPC, etc., and plant efficiency as it related to yield, lbs./birds, pmh, line speeds and automatic process equipment.
  • Proven track record demonstrating ability to lead people and get results.
  • Must be able to organize multiple protocols/projects and complete on schedule.
  • Requires prior supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of an ability to provide strong customer orientation.
  • Must be able to communicate to all levels of the organization; possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be able to travel to other facilities and plants for meetings and/or Company business

Experience Preferred

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

  • May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
  • May need to access files, supplies and equipment. 
  • When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
  • May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
  • May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
  • May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
  • Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
