Summary

The Senior Manager Labor Optimization is responsible to build a methodology and adoptable approach to oversee workforce schedule and optimization for sites across the Foods manufacturing network.   

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and maintenance of labor management programs, including data collection, analysis and reporting to support workforce optimization.
  • Develop and implement network level labor management strategies to optimize site staffing levels, improving overall network labor efficiency.
  • Monitor and analyze labor costs, overtime, and productivity to ensure performance consistent with budget and production goals, identifying where adjustments are needed.
  • Collaborate and partner with corporate and site leadership to establish staffing and scheduling targets to efficiently meet manufacturing requirements. 
  • Oversee implementation of methodology and drive adoption at sites and provide on-going guidance on scheduling, time management, and workforce planning to sites.
  • Ensure compliance with labor regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with leadership, operations and engineering to identify process inefficiencies and support the execution of continuous improvement projects aimed at cost reduction, operational excellence and/or workforce optimization.
  • Oversee relevant data collection and reporting.  Establish cadences to gather, analyze, and report on key performance metrics related to operations and workforce optimization, providing actionable insights to drive decision-making and process improvements.
  • Stay current with solution capability developments to maximize benefits realized in operations.

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operation Management or related field.

Experience Requirements

  • 5-7 years of demonstrated multi-site leadership experience in labor management, scheduling and staffing requirements in a manufacturing and/or warehouse setting.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing labor management programs with engineered labor standards. 
  • 5-7 years of experience, operating in scheduling systems (Kronos/SAP, Power BI, other labor modeling programs)
  • Familiarity with labor laws, demand forecasting, skill based scheduling/skill matrices, shift planning, constraint based scheduling, predictive analytics and scenario planning
  • Ability to work across multiple facilities, providing direction and support to site leaders.
  • Demonstrated problem solving - ability to analyze complex systems and processes, identify inefficiencies, and develop innovative engineering solutions, related to workforce optimization, to drive improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively present ideas and influence decision-making. Strong leadership and teamwork abilities, with a proven track record of successfully managing cross-functional projects.
