Summary

We are seeking a skilled, detail-oriented and self-motivated software developer to join our team at Perdue Foods.  You will play a key role in building and maintaining our brand websites and eCommerce integrations with a focus on high-quality, scalable solutions that meet the needs of our internal company and customers.

The salary range for this position is $73,000 - $109,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop, customize and maintain websites in HTML / CSS / JS, ensuring they are responsive, accessible and scalable
  • Develop reusable and extensible components in platforms like Figma, Drupal CMS and Shopify
  • Collaborate with designers and other developers to implement user interfaces with clean and effective designs for optimal user experiences
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize code within websites to enhance performance, accessibility, and user experience
  • Implement front-end features and functionality based on client specifications and requirements
  • Work within a fully remote team within an established software development lifecycle to produce clean, reusable, and easily maintainable code
  • Participate in code reviews, software testing, and deployments to ensure successful project delivery
  • Assist in the integration of third-party services, APIs, and other technology integrations to extend our website's existing capabilities
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends

Minimum Education

Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science or related discipline.

Experience Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience as a software developer
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS and JavaScript, including frameworks like jQuery or React
  • Experience making reusable and extensible code and business logic
  • Familiarity with front-end development tools like SASS/LESS, Webpack, etc.
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs and integration with external services
  • Basic understanding of web accessibility
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team fully remote environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a productive attitude
  • Good understanding of version control systems like Git, GitLabs, SVN, etc

Experience Preferred

  • Experience working in Figma
  • Experience in Drupal CMS or custom module development
  • Experience in eCommerce solutions, especially Liquid/Shopify
  • Basic knowledge of PHP and MySQL for debugging and small backend adjustments
  • Familiarity with Agile Development methodologies
  • CPACC (or other) web accessibility certification
  • Exposure to automated CI build process tools like Jenkins

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. May need to access files, supplies and equipment.  Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment.
