Summary

We are recruiting for a Tax Accountant to join our team. This position is responsible for multi-state sales and use tax processes which includes responding to internal/external customer requests, reviewing purchases, and filing sales and use tax returns.

This is an onsite role at our Salisbury, MD Corporate Headquarters.

The salary range for this position is $63,000 - $95,000  per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Respond timely to internal/external customers on taxability of purchases and provide appropriate documentation
  • Review sales and use tax accruals and prepare journal entries
  • Prepares balance sheet reconciliations for sales and use tax liability balance sheet accounts
  • Research sales and use tax laws/code to determine taxability/exempt status and apply to purchases
  • Collects data and files sales and use tax returns on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis
  • Schedules, plans and prepares responses for sales and use tax audits with the assistance from the Tax Manager when necessary

Minimum Education and Experience Required

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, plus 2-4 years related work experience.Intermediate Excel skills (Pivot Tables, vLookup)

PREFERRED:  Possess practical knowledge of transaction taxes

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

  • Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.
  • May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
  • May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
  • Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment.
