Summary
This is a promotional position that oversees the production lines or areas processing poultry products, assisting the department supervisor in the daily operation coordination the workforce, and ensuring a safe and productive work environment. Requires working with raw poultry products. Usually works five to six days a week; hours and overtime vary due to production need, generally 7:30am - 5:30pm.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- To perform all positions within the department as outlined in the job description in order to relieve and train associates as necessary.
- To direct the workforce within the department in order to ensure all positions are performed according to daily production needs and standards.
- To coordinate and initiate the rotation schedule every two hours and 45 minutes to meet OSHA safety requirements and ensure all Perdue Safety Policies are adhered to.
- Take an active role in training new hires and internal associates in order that they meet departmental job requirements and are working as a team to meet departmental goals.
- Ensure all daily paperwork is completed and daily paw manure burn check is imputed into tablet.
- Play active roll in sending out A-Grade product to meet and or exceed our customers satisfaction, and at the same time to keep our yield numbers where they need it to be.
Minimum Education
- High School or equivalent not required but preferred.
Experience Requirements
- External: worked a minimum of 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer within the past 3 years in a comparable field
- Internal: minimum of 6 months in current position, 2 occurrences or less, no active disciplinaries.
Experience Preferred
- Must have lead or supervisory experience in production environment preferred.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to dust, feathers and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company. Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm. Able to stand for several hours. Work may include lifting (up to 50 lbs), reaching, bending, pushing boxes on conveyor assembly.
