Summary
The Quality Assurance Technician monitors and inspects all product to ensure customer satisfaction and ensure food safety requirements are being met.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Record visual monitoring and checks on appropriate documents.
- Monitors mid-shift clean up, SSOP’s, GMP’s and housekeeping in designated departments, writing deficiencies if necessary.
- Audits out going product to customer specifications and hold product that doesn’t meet requirements.
- Follow all safety requirements, GMP’s policy and food safety requirements.
- Communicate with production and USDA in a professional manner.
- Administer net weight program.
Minimum Education
High School or equivalent preferred, but not required.
Experience Requirements
- Strong reading, communication, math, writing, and analytical skills are required.
- Worked a minimum of 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer within the past 3 years.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
- Work environment includes, but is not limited to, temperatures of 34-85 degrees F, and at times in temperatures below 0 degrees.
- QA Technician will be going from hot areas to cold areas, and from cold areas to hot areas.
- Work in wet and damp environments.
- Exposure to sodium hydroxide residues (caustics) polyresin glue resins (glue), ammonia (NH4), Iodine (1), Chlorine (CL2) and Carbon Dioxide (CO2) vapors at times above 32.
- Noise level of 95.1dB, continuously standing and walking on slippery concrete, handle product with temperatures of less than 0 degrees F. and greater than 160 degrees F.
- Lift cases weighing 20 to 50 lbs. approximately 3-5 feet from floor and carry approx. 20 feet to inspection station.
- QA Technician will be working in these conditions for 8 hours or more.
