Who We Are

In 1920, Arthur and Pearl Perdue established a small poultry business with a commitment to quality and hard work. Now in our fourth generation of operation, Perdue Farms remains family owned, privately held, and proud to call Salisbury, Maryland, home. What drives us? Building an inclusive and welcoming workplace, protecting our planet, making a difference in our communities, and caring for animals with respect. For over 100 years, we’ve stayed true to one goal: always striving to be better—together.

    Quality

We strive to produce products and provide services that meet or exceed the expectations of associates, consumers, and our farming partners. This shared responsibility demands innovation, continuous improvement, and strict adherence to our food safety standards.

    Integrity

We never take the easy way! Farming to a higher standard and producing quality foods with no antibiotics ever are part of Perdue Farms’ mission to do the right thing for the right reason and always keep our promises.

    Teamwork

There’s a reason why associates feel like they are part of a big family! We know that by working together―while supporting the successes and protecting the safety of colleagues―we can accomplish great things.

  • Stewardship

We believe in responsible food and agriculture®, which requires protecting the environment, ensuring the well-being of our associates, respectful treatment of animals, and community outreach and engagement.

Delivering Hope to Our Neighbors®:
A Commitment to Community

Community is one of our most important responsibilities; it’s in our nature to put our people first and give back to the communities where we do business.

Food and Financial Donations

To improve quality of life and build strong communities where we live and work, we have made the following contributions:

  • Feeding America®: To alleviate hunger and food insecurity, we’ve partnered with this organization and its food banks since 2000 to deliver more than 100 million pounds of protein to communities in need.
  • Franklin P. and Arthur W. Perdue Foundation: The charitable arm of Perdue Farms, the foundation, in FY2024, earmarked nearly $1.5 million to 69 nonprofits in our communities.
  • United Way: In 2023, Perdue associates helped contribute more than $400,000 in personal pledges and fundraising for local United Ways in our communities.

Volunteer Efforts

To help and engage our neighbors, associates donate their time and effort to the following causes:

  • Operation Teddy Bear: As part of a 39-year holiday tradition, Perdue Farms truck drivers deliver holiday cheer by providing rides in their big rigs for residents of the Holly Center, a Maryland State residential facility for individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Wreaths Across America®: Through this partnership, Perdue truck drivers, many of whom are veterans, have delivered more than 350,000 wreaths to the nation’s veterans cemeteries.
  • The Salvation Army Angel Tree program: Associates provide holiday gifts for hundreds of children and families throughout our communities.
  • Alleviating food insecurity: Associates across the company volunteer their time at local food banks and pantries to help our neighbors struggling with food insecurity, including in our home state of Maryland.

Celebrating Unique Perspectives To Raise A Better Future

When people from all backgrounds come together, innovation follows. That’s why we’re passionate about creating a culture where everyone feels valued for who they are. We celebrate the unique thoughts, experiences, and perspectives that our associates bring, encouraging them to share their voices. We believe that by working together, we can accomplish great things.

As part of our journey toward a more robust company culture, we support six Associate Resource Groups (ARGs) and 23 Inclusion Councils. From professional development to cultural celebrations, our ARGs and Inclusion Councils address the diverse needs of our associates and offer space for every person’s voice to be heard and valued.
