Summary
Hours of Work:
- 1st shift- Monday through Friday 6:00a- 3:00pm
- 2nd shift- Monday through Friday 3:30pm- 12:30am
- All shifts are subject to weekend work on Saturday/Sunday based on harvest production as shipping needs. Additional shifts will be communicated as needed.
- 1st shift typically works every Saturday 6:00a- 12:00pm. This is at management's discretion.
- Hours as scheduled by management with one 30 minute lunch period during the shift. Overtime may be scheduled as needed and directed by management.
- Un-scheduled Work Days and Holidays will also be scheduled by management based on production needs.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Receive paperwork from the inbound driver. Key inbound order into related systems. Verify all information is correct.
- Generate reports as required by the SOP’s.
- Verify pick sheets, load diagrams, weight manifests to ensure all outbound loads are correct and meet SOP’s.
- Communicate with Perdue’s Transportation department when needed.
- Promote and maintain a positive customer service environment.
- Ensure filing is completed within the shipping office. Purge files as determined by SOP’s.
- Monitor workflow and coordinate work between shifts.
- Sign off and monitor daily HACCP checklists and safety chain checks.
- Audit procedures and train when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Minimum Education
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent preferred.
- Reading, writing, math and analytical skills required.
Experience Requirements
- Using basic reading, writing, and analytical skills, and must be able to determine which product to load.
- Correctly process data entry instructions.
- Must be able to direct workflow for timely processing of product.
- Supervisors and Leads are available for items not covered in normal operations. Higher approval is required for any deviations from SOP.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
- Must wear mandatory personal protective equipment.
- Climate controlled environment.
- Must be able to use standard office equipment, such as a computer, printer, telephone, copier, fax etc.
- Some equipment located 50 feet away.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach to file as necessary.
- Ability to remain stationary for intervals of 2 hours.
- Must be able to move though the facility.
- Ability to occasionally lift 20-50 lbs.
- Exposure to the distribution/production environment.
