Summary

Join our live production team as a Flock Advisor, where you’ll be the trusted link between the company and our contract producers. In this hands-on role, you’ll oversee poultry inventory across your assigned route while fostering clear, consistent communication that keeps operations running smoothly. By building strong relationships and supporting day-to-day flock success, you’ll play a key role in ensuring healthy birds, reliable supply, and continued excellence in our live production operations.

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work directly with assigned contract producers to improve company profitability and competitive position by implementing production programs and documenting producer compliance at each visit to the farm. Note: In the case of the west coast, associates live on the farms and are responsible for raising chickens
  • Maintain assigned route square footage to meet the demands established by sales to fulfill customer orders. Maintain route compliance with poultry welfare, food safety and environmental "Best Management Practices" to maintain a strong brand image.
  • Monitor chick placements, bird weights, flock movements, mortality and feed inventories. Assess bird health, administers proper field vaccinations, prescribe treatment and perform various testing on birds to identify disease and relay finds to management.
  • Support other departments within the company that are impacted by the producers on assigned route by maintaining good open lines of communication between all parties.
  • Comply and follow company requirements regarding biosecurity, food safety and poultry welfare programs and policies at all times.
  • Operate company vehicle in a safe manner complying with all company policies, state and federal requirements.
  • Monitor the day-to-day work of the contracted construction crews. Coordinate with the producers, vendors and subcontractors.
  • Work with perspective farmers laying out the construction of new poultry houses and the renovation of aging houses ensuring that the environment provided to the flocks meets the requirements of the operation.
  • Purchase and transport local materials and equipment to the job sites.
  • Provide estimates of the remodeled construction cost of existing poultry facilities.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Poultry Science, Animal Science or Agribusiness Management or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-3 years related experience.
  • Experience is lieu of degree will be considered.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with no points.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Strong reading, math, writing communication skills (oral and written), analytical skills and a statistical background.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

  • Must be physically able to work in all locations including hatcheries, feed mills, chicken houses and processing plants.
