Summary

Keep maintenance operations running at peak performance by ensuring critical parts and inventory are accurate, organized, and readily available. As a Parts Room Clerk, you will play a key role in supporting plant reliability and operational efficiency through effective inventory management, accurate recordkeeping, and proactive inventory control practices. You will collaborate closely with maintenance and operations teams to maintain optimal stock levels, perform cycle counts, analyze inventory data, and identify opportunities for process improvements that reduce costs and enhance productivity. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working with inventory systems, solving problems, and contributing to a safe, organized, and high-performing team environment.

ScheduleMonday through Friday, 1:00pm-10:00pm

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct cycle count inventory processes to ensure accuracy and timely execution.

  • Schedule categories for cycle count inventory and maintain accurate records.

  • Oversee and evaluate stock rotation procedures.

  • Maintain adequate storage for warehouse and on-site inventory.

  • Maintain and evaluate inventory records on a quarterly basis.

  • Train store staff in product dating procedures.

  • Create procedures to eliminate loss.

  • Create efficient space utilization plans.

  • Notify store management of shortages or issues impacting product availability.

  • Instruct store staff on proper procedures for locating and utilizing product inventory.

  • Check bulk orders for accuracy and quality prior to shipment.

  • Unpack and package parts using proper lifting procedures to lift and carry up to 50 pounds without mechanical assistance or assistance from other personnel.

  • Work independently and follow written and oral instructions.

  • Check out and log parts and supplies in and out of the supply room.

  • Complete nightly cycle counts of inventory accurately.

  • Maintain MSDS files and USDA approval letters.

  • Use basic typing techniques to log parts and labor into Maximo to accurately track issues and transfers.

  • Ship parts and equipment for repairs, returns, and credit.

  • Receive shipments, verify incoming packages against requisitions for accuracy, and place items into inventory.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • 2 - 4 year’s experience.

  • Demonstrate strong computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Excel.

  • Operate a forklift and/or pallet jack.

  • Demonstrate strong understanding of products and production flow from order entry through shipping.

  • Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Demonstrate strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

  • Manage priorities and workflow effectively.

  • Demonstrate versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work within changing priorities.

  • Maintain strong attention to detail.

  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.

  • Speak, read, write, and understand English.

  • Use visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and use a keyboard.

  • Complete detailed forms and reports accurately.

  • Calculate figures and amounts accurately.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

  • Remain active on the plant floor, including troubleshooting and redesigning existing systems.

  • Lift, push, or pull up to 50 lb boxes and materials as needed.

  • Access files, supplies, and equipment as necessary.

  • Move through the complex and all facilities.

  • Work in environments with wet and moist floors, including metal and plastic grating surfaces.

  • Work in temperatures ranging from 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with ambient and up to 100% humidity.

  • Handle products ranging from 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Work in noise levels ranging from 50 db to 110 db.

  • Be exposed to chemicals used in poultry, food, and processing facilities.

  • Wear and use protective and safety equipment as required.
