Summary
The purpose of this position is to maintain operational function of offal and wastewater systems. Load offal and feather trailers properly without mixing product, maintain effluent compliance in accordance with the city of Dillon’s Industrial Users Permit.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Load offal and feather trailers properly to meet the following goals:
1) >40,000 lbs/trailer. (2.) <3% blood by pumping on each tank. (3) <2% free water achieved by draining trailers properly.
2. Maintain operations of system equipment during shift.
3. Keep Offal and Wastewater areas washed and clean.
4. Must work safely with a variety of cleaning and wastewater treatment chemicals.
5. Work with wastewater operator to help maintain proper effluent compliance.
6. Perform Maintenance and Preventative Maintenance on assigned equipment.
7. Maintain paperwork daily; if needed making calls to Rendering Contractor to schedule loads.
8. Must have a valid driver's license. Must be able to drive a jockey truck and overt the road tractor.
Minimum Education
A High School diploma or GED preferred.
Experience Preferred
One (1) year of related experience preferred.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
Position is active. On the plant floor activities such as troubleshooting and re-design of existing systems are routine. May need to access files, supplies and equipment. Position requires an associate to have the ability to move throughout the complex and all facilities. When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
