Summary
Drive operational excellence and production performance in our Fresh Cuts facility. As a Fresh Cuts Process Technician, you will set up, monitor, adjust, and maintain production equipment and processes to support safety, quality, and efficiency goals while achieving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) standards. You will partner closely with production, maintenance, and operations teams to troubleshoot equipment issues, optimize performance, and minimize downtime. This role is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented professional who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and making a direct impact in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 5:00pm-5:00am
Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Train Operators and Process Technician I associates on the proper setup and operation of Fresh Cuts equipment.
- Inspect equipment and related components for proper operation.
- Prepare equipment for sanitation, including blade removal, arbors, and ensuring fasteners are put back in place after blade removal.
- Oversee the blade sharpening program to ensure sharp blades are ready for daily production.
- Report blade sharpening issues to the Production Superintendent.
- Observe and adjust equipment for proper operation during production and report problems to management.
- Contact original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) for quotes on parts needed for assigned equipment.
- Submit purchase requests through Maximo (CMMS) and follow up to ensure parts are ordered in a timely manner to prevent unexpected downtime.
- Maintain work and production areas during production and on weekends as needed or scheduled.
- Complete necessary production paperwork.
- Adhere to all safety requirements, including preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions.
- Provide accurate pass-down information to counterparts on the opposite shift, including Machine Operators, Process Technician II associates, and management, regarding issues from the shift.
- Communicate with Production and Maintenance Superintendents at least 2 hours in advance when late or absent for regular workdays and/or weekend preventive maintenance activities.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Read and write English.
- Demonstrate math and analytical skills.
- Complete Perdue training, task demonstrations, and demonstrate proficiency in maintaining equipment and process requirements for quality and productivity.
Preferred Education and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 2 - 4 years of experience.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors
- Exposure to temperatures ranging from 40 - 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Exposure to noise levels ranging from 85 - 88 dB.
- Exposure to iodine at hand wash stations.
- Exposure to light intensity above 50 foot-candles.
- Ability to lift 80 lbs.
- Ability to move throughout the department.
