Summary

We are actively recruiting for a seasoned sales leader for our Niman Ranch brand. The Director of Retail Sales manages all aspects of the Niman Ranch retail sales and sales management activities for Niman Ranch sales accounts. This includes people management, goal setting, established measurement and ultimately attaining specified positive results. This Director is the “top to top” contact and communicator between the Company and the accounts for which his/her teams are responsible.

The salary range for this position is $111,000.00 - $167,000.00 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all Niman Ranch sales accounts within the scope of this geography, which may include a small number of customers outside this geography.  Responsible for all aspects of the accounts, P & L and data insights.  Senior Sales Director for Niman Ranch manages top to top relationship between the company leadership and account leadership for long term strategic growth attainment.
  • Develops and implements Niman Ranch accounts sales plan to include all regional and within all accounts. Attains all budgeted product line volumes, price, and mix and share levels. 
  • Manages day to day responsibilities of existing Niman Ranch business in all designated regional territories, and grow new Niman Ranch business with designated regional account managers.
  • Manages appropriately assigned Niman Ranch sales staff and all expense budgets including staffing, overhead and programs.
  • Manages all aspects of designated account responsibilities, day to business dealings with R & D, customer service, forecast, and pricing.
  • Manages sales efforts to attain fresh and further processed budgeted sales in margin, volume and revenue. Also manages sales direction as to always be aligned with Strategic Plan.
  • Manages the utilization and maintenance of the customer database as a tool for accurate account information and management records as well as the vehicle for communicating weekly account contact updates.  
  • Participates in a leadership position on special projects and cross-functional teams.  Continuously improves skills by participating in classes and seminars as deemed necessary in the development plan.  

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience, in Sales, Marketing or Business Administration plus 7-10 years related work experience.  Management experience required preferably in the food or food sales areas. 

The ideal candidate will also have:

  • Solid sales management experience
  • Prior experience managing, recruiting and evaluating sales associates. 
  • Strong reading, writing, communication and analytical skills required. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and suppliers. 
  • Ability to travel to plant facilities and market areas to include overnight travel.  Should anticipate spending approximately 50+% travel time.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

This position is remote based with travel as needed.
