Summary
Drive environmental compliance and sustainability excellence across facility operations. As an Environmental Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations while supporting the safe and efficient operation of the facility. You will conduct environmental testing, maintain compliance records, assist with regulatory reporting, and provide technical expertise on environmental matters. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys problem-solving, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and making a meaningful impact by helping ensure environmental stewardship and operational success.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure day-to-day production activities are conducted in accordance with environmental requirements established by permits and local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Conduct environmental compliance testing.
- Conduct environmental audits to ensure compliance with all permit requirements, laws, and regulations.
- Maintain environmental records to ensure compliance with permit requirements, laws, and regulations.
- Assist in developing environmental reports required by local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Assist facility and operational managers in ensuring waste disposal and spill response activities comply with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Associate degree in Environmental Science, Biological Sciences, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of related work experience may be substituted for an associate degree.
- 1-3 years of related experience with an associate degree.
- Understand local, state, and federal environmental laws and regulations.
- Understand standard software applications.
- Demonstrate strong communication, mathematical, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Maintain a valid driver's license.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Associate degree in Environmental Science or Biological Sciences.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors
- Move freely throughout AgriBusiness facilities.
- Climb vertical heights from 0-150 feet.
- Carry tools and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Work in environments with temperatures ranging from 0°F to 100°F.
- Work in humidity levels ranging from 0% to 100%.
- Work in noise levels ranging from 50 dB to 100 dB.
- Work around chemicals. Safety Data Sheets are available.
- Communicate effectively by telephone and use standard office equipment.
- Travel to remote AgriBusiness facilities as required.
