Summary
Be a vital part of our hatchery operations and help ensure healthy, high-quality chicks every day! As a Hatchery Technician – Night Shift, you will monitor and record machine temperatures and humidity across all incubators and hatchers, ensuring optimal conditions for every egg. You’ll work closely with our maintenance team to quickly address any issues, keeping operations running smoothly. You’ll also be hands on with loading and unloading egg trucks, tray eggs, setting eggs, stacking chick boxes, and supporting sanitation efforts making you a key player in the production process. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast paced, team-oriented environment, enjoys hands-on work, and takes pride in contributing to a safe, efficient, and high-quality hatchery operation.
This position has a base rate of $17.25 per hour, with opportunities for pay premiums, shift differentials and overtime where applicable. Annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Schedule: Tuesday night 5:00am-5:00pm, and Saturday 5:00am-5:00pm
Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Every 3 hours associate must visually check all hatchers and incubators for proper running temperatures, humidity levels and record readings on the designated forms.
- Also record hall temperatures, static pressure, and water temperatures.
- Respond promptly to any alarms.
- When a mechanical problem is found, the associate must attempt to correct the problem or call a maintenance person immediately for assistance.
- Unload egg trucks as they arrive. Trucks will have up to 36 racks weighing 500 lbs. each that will have to be pushed 100 ft.
- Reload truck with empty racks weighing 150 lbs. each.
- Clean egg truck prior to reloading.
- Assist in traying eggs prior to set.
- Set eggs according to the set sheet. Making sure machines are level and hooked up properly.
- Stack chick boxes on Thursday and Friday nights in the box room.
- Any other duties assigned by management.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Reading and writing skills.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors
- Exposed to temperatures ranging from 60 to 150 degrees F. and humidity’s up to 100%.
- Exposed to chemicals, drugs, and vaccines to be covered in MSDS training and hazardous communications.
- Use of personal protective equipment as required.
