Overview:
- Work with Maintenance Technician Lead to assume and assist farm maintenance duties.
- Communicate with other maintenance technicians and maintenance manager to plan and schedule maintenance projects, pop up repairs, Patz management, etc.
- Responsible for all aspects of loading, hauling, and manure application for the farm.
- Work with Maintenance Manager to develop and maintain a manure application plan with surrounding farmers to ensure continuity with respect to crop and grazing rotations.
- Manage compost mixing and spreading.
- Maintain all Bio-security protocols in place at each farm and between farms.
Duties:
- Responsible to apply and oversee all manure application on fields, and communicate with the landowner to ensure that they are satisfied with the product and process.
- Work with farm maintenance to ensure all equipment is repaired and properly maintained.
- Manage, keep, communicate, and report accurate application records on a daily basis to the Farm Site Manager.
- Ensure that manure application is compliant with Niman Ranch and all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Any other duties as assigned, requested, or directed by management/supervisor related to manure management.
Requirements:
- Background and understanding of large equipment and farm production maintenance.
- Experience in large tractor and truck operation, mechanically inclined is a must.
- Ability to follow all safety protocols and procedures.
- Ability to problem solve, be a critical thinker, goal oriented, and a team player.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Ability to lead by example, and work with a team of 2-5 people
