Summary
Lead a high performing transportation hub that keeps operations moving safely and efficiently. As a Fleet and Facilities Operations Manager, you will oversee both fleet drivers and mechanical shop operations, ensuring seamless coordination between driver performance, safety compliance, and asset maintenance. You will manage the full driver lifecycle from hiring through retention, lead a team of skilled technicians, and maintain accountability for operational and maintenance budgets. This role is ideal for a strategic, hands-on leader who excels at optimizing performance, developing teams, and driving safe, reliable, and cost-effective transportation operations.
The salary range for this position is $97,000,00 - $121,000.00per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Direct and supervise a dual-function workforce consisting of professional drivers, dispatchers, and diesel technicians to ensure 24/7 operational readiness.
- Support all regional recruitment, onboarding, and orientation efforts; establish a culture of high performance through continuous coaching and annual performance reviews.
- Manage the daily operations of the maintenance facility, including the scheduling of repairs, shop safety protocols, and the supervision of technician productivity.
- Ensure strict adherence to DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA regulations, lead accident investigations, root cause analyses, and the implementation of remedial safety training.
- Manage regional budgets, including fuel expenditures, labor costs, parts inventory, and external vendor repairs; provide monthly variance reporting.
- Review repair orders (ROs) for accuracy and technical necessity; monitor "Down Time" metrics and implement strategies to increase Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF).
- Establish and track key performance indicators for both drivers (MPG, on-time delivery, HOS compliance) and the shop (PM compliance, dwell time, shop labor hours).
- Manage parts inventory levels to balance cost-efficiency with repair speed; negotiate and audit third-party vendor contracts for specialized maintenance or overflow capacity.
- Identify and execute process improvements that reduce the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) while maintaining Perdue’s high standards for service and safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree or relevant work experience.
- Excellent communication skills, including listening, written and oral; Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated experiences of individual and team-based problem solving.
Preferred Education and Experience
- 2-3 years of transportation, distribution or logistics experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and project management skills.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors
- Flexible work schedules (both days and hours) to handle weather, holidays or other service disruptions.
- 24 hours, 7 days a week on-call basis for matters involving customer service or safety of drivers.
- Ability to travel to and from facility locations.
- Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.
- Exposed to office equipment, outside weather conditions.
