Summary

Provides technical and regulatory expertise to assist staff and field personnel in solution of safety, health and security related issues.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs daily audits within operations to ensure all plant safety protocols and procedures are being strictly adhered too,
  • Train all new department safety reps on the daily inspection process they are to perform and the check sheets used to capture any potential hazard.
  • Ensure all hazards identified by safety reps are reported to supervision, and the team leader advised of the corrective action taken.
  • Assist in performing various safety training requirements as necessary to ensure associates understand their safety responsibilities.
  • May be required to work various shifts and some weekends when production is running in order to deliver training to associates.
  • Assist production supervision and the Safety & Security Manager in developing the weekly safety topics when needed.
  • Will assist in attending department huddle meetings througout the month to ensure safety topics are being covered by team leaders in an effective way and report findings to senior management.

Minimum Education

High school or equivalent not required but beneficial.  A minimum of 3 years further processing work experience and lab equivalent familiarity with the production equipment used in operations. Proficient computer skill using Word, Excel & Powerpoint.

Experience Requirements

3 + years of related experience in a manufacturing environment

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.

May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.

May need to access files, supplies and equipment.

Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment.

When in a plant environment:

Exposure primarily consists of wer and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.

May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.

May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit
