Summary
We’re seeking an experienced Operations Accounting Manager to lead the accounting and reporting functions for our growing co-packer operations. In this role, you’ll ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting while maintaining strong internal controls to safeguard company assets. You’ll partner closely with operations and financial leadership to provide insights that drive performance, efficiency, and continued growth across the business.
This position is located onsite at our facility in Perry, GA.
Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintains an effective system of internal controls, ensuring compliance with Corporate and generally accepted standards of accounting and reporting.
- Directs the processes of recording, reviewing, and reporting the Co-packer performance, with a focus on continuous improvement in terms of accuracy, timeliness, relevance, and cost. Effectively utilizes information processing technology to deliver information to management in an efficient and effective manner.
- Assists Co-packer Operational management in managing capital expenditures to optimize economic performance, product quality, and associate safety. Effectively manages the CER process for any Co-packer related CER’s.
- Oversees inventory and overall asset management where relevant for a Co-packer.
- Serve as the Financial resource for the Senior Director and Director of Co-manufacturing.
- Assist with routine and adhoc reporting to support the Co-manufacturing part of our business.
- Review and perform monthly closing responsibilities and related cost/analytical and auditing responsibilities.
- Support activities related to annual Operating Budgets and Operational scorecards in addition to supporting adhoc requests from the VP of Foods Plant Accounting.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 6 – 8 years related work experience.
- Requires manufacturing costing experience and process cost accounting.
- Must be able to work with the remote Co-manufacturing management team to understand the contracts and cost models and to perform audit requirements at Co-manufacturing plants as needed.
Preferred Education and Experience
- MBA, CPA or CMA preferred. Poultry industry experience.
- Minimum of 2-3 years supervisory experience.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors
- Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.
- May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
- May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
- Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment.
When in a plant environment:
- Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
- May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
- May handle products from 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
- May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
- May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, and processing facility.
- Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
