Summary

The purpose of this position is to make sure the Pac Mac Machine is operational and in control.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs pre-determined measurements on the equipment that will maximize overall machine operations to ensure optimal operating efficiency to meet production goals. 
  • Verifies machine settings, identifies equipment problems and makes recommendations to Maintenance for repair, adjustment and preventative maintenance. 
  • Ensures that equipment performs in an efficient manner and meets birds per man hour requirements. 
  • Monitors process to ensure a quality product is produced in a timely and efficient manner. 
  • Keeps floor in the area clean.
  • Maintains basic equipment conditions such as cleaning, lubricating, inspecting and maintaining proper alignment. 
  • If necessary make minor repairs.
  • Keeps machine free of jams.
  • Maintains the yield efficiency goal levels set forth by management.
  • Ensures the machine loaders are properly loading correctly to reduce down grade product and increase overall yield. 
  • Adheres to all safety requirements including PPE, preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, lockout-tag out procedures and Process Safety Management related matters.

Minimum Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year or more experience in deboning manufacturing.

Experience Requirements

  • In depth knowledge of the overall deboning process; mechanical aptitude, ability to test and document process and product quality. 
  • Ability to analyze data and process information in real-time and utilize data points in decision making process. 
  • Good analytical skills and sound decision making abilities. 
  • Ability to multi-task and meet ever changing demands and requirements.

Experience Preferred

  • Previous Machine Operator experience preferred.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

  • Wear protective equipment as it aligns with Company policy.
  • Working stationary at 1-2 hour intervals with normal rotation within a normal 8 hour shift.
  • Temperatures range from 26-32 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Work environment has noise levels of 85-96 db in a lighted area of production.
  • Must be nimble and possess the physical ability to climb on the equipment as necessary to make adjustments and ensure product is loading and processing properly. 
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds up and down stairs, multiple times during a shift.
  • Able to exert pressure with arms and/or legs while standing in a stationary position.
  • When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
  • May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
  • May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
  • May be exposed to dust, feathers and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
  • Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
  • Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm.
  • Able to stand for several hours.
  • Work may include lifting (35 to 65 lbs) to heights from 5" to 84", reaching, bending, pushing boxes on conveyor assembly. 
  • May need to have the ability to operate standup lift for 9 plus hours.
