Summary
Join our team as a Distribution Center Associate and help keep our products moving! We’re looking for dependable individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and take pride in safety and quality. In this essential role, you’ll operate equipment such as a Reach Lift, Docker, or Jockey Truck to accurately load and move product, support efficient shipping operations, and ensure trailers are prepared and ready to reach our customers. If you enjoy hands-on work, teamwork, and being a key part of getting product out the door, this role is a perfect fit!
Schedule: All Shifts
Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Utilize automatic data collection equipment to scan and create appropriate inventory transactions.
· Some positions may require operating a Jockey Truck (No CDL).
· Using a pallet jack load 46–53-foot trailers with pallets of fresh product weighing up to 80lbs per box.
· List the items on each pallet on a load diagram consisting of the order number, product code, date code, stop position, pallet type, and number of cases.
· Follow all SOP’s relative to loading as described in the Quality Assurance Loading procedures.
· Observe quality control standards in assuring that all products are on intact pallets and that boxes are in acceptable condition for shipping.
· Using computer generated loading list, ensure that the proper product code, date code and quantity are loaded for each stop.
· Complete truck loading in a timely manner as product and order flow allow.
· Perform all duties in a safe manner by following facility guidelines.
· Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Minimum Education and Experience
· Must have experience operating Reach lift and Dockers.
· Must obtain a pallet jack license through Perdue training and testing.
Preferred Education and Experience
· High School or equivalent is beneficial but not required.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors
· Must wear mandatory personal protective equipment.
· Work in temperatures consistently between 28â F and 35â F, with ambient high humidity and noise levels upto 98 DB.
· Sometimes lift boxes weighing 35 to 80lbs to heights from 5" to 84" (stooping to overhead reaching).
· Must be able to stand 10 plus hours per shift.
