Summary

The overall purpose of this position is to ensure the production schedule is correct, up-to-date, and released correctly to production. To  provide support to the WPL and production departments through inventory control, counting inventory in the 28-degree coolers, using SAP programs, computer, etc. To ensure trucks are completed on time. Ensure product and customer information within the system is correct.

The hours and days of work are established as needed by operations and at the direction of management and, while generally as shown below, there may be changes (increased or decreased) by management as required.

Hours of Work: Generally Wed- Sat 6:30 AM – 5:30 PM or untilproductionis complete.  Overtime may be scheduled as needed and directed by management.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Generate WPL schedule or Production Planned Workload daily
  • Strategically wave plan orders to the production lines based on product availability
  • Learn SAP programs.
  • Monitor product availability in SAP.
  • Communicate with leadership and supply planning on daily WPL schedule.
  • Communicate with management on order number and quantity changes.
  • Rotate inventory in allocations using the FIFO principles.
  • Manage age code and sell-by updates as orders are planned for production. Make necessary changes to reflect in shelf-life.
  • Communicate with WPL and Warehouse management team on timed dock outs.
  • Monitor product being received in dock out completion order. Make mock order entries based on product shortages and production changes.
  • Monitor product going into the 28 - degree room cooler and ensuring it is boxed on customers’ orders according to truck times.
  • Complete Daily physical inventory counts to ensure product availability for truck times.
  • Communicate with production and shipping for product availability for departure times.
  • Learn all product codes and the department that responsible for producing what’s needed for trucks.
  • Communicate with production through email and paper copies every two hours about what’s needed for trucks.
  • Perform other departmental duties and responsibilities as directed or assigned by management or lead associate.

Minimum Education

High school diploma or GED equivalent.  Basic reading, writing, and analytical skills are required.  Must be able to determine which product to load.  Correctly process data entry instructions.  Must be able to direct work flow for timely process of product.

Experience Requirements

Worked a minimum of 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer within the past 3 years.

Experience Preferred

Experience in poultry processing/manufacturing environment or order processing and scheduling preferred.

Previous experience with SAP are highly preferred. 

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

When in a plant environment:

Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.

May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.

May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.

May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.

Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.

Exposure to the distribution/production environment.

Exposure to a climate controlled environment. 

May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.

May need to access files, supplies and equipment.

Must be able to use standard office equipment, such as a computer, printer, telephone, copier, fax etc.

Must be able to work on and or around operating equipment. 

Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach to file as necessary. 

Must be able to move though the facility. 

Ability to occasionally lift 20-50 lbs; work may include lifting (up to 50 lbs), reaching, bending, pushing boxes.
