Summary
We are actively seeking a hardworking, energetic, self-starter to join our Agribusiness team in Salsibury, MD as an Animal Nutrition Science Intern. Perdue's Summer Internship program is designed to combine knowledge learned in the classroom with meaningful, real-world experiences.
Our Animal Nutrition Science intern will be responsible for the day-to-day assistance in the supervision of production associates to achieve required production and quality standards in a safe, efficient, and effective manner, and assisting in promoting and maintaining positive working relationships within the production group.
To provide an introduction and practical experience in animal nutrition and applied research, supporting the Technical Services team in evaluating feed ingredients, conducting nutrition trials, and analyzing data to generate insights that enhance product performance and customer value.

This position has a target wage of $21.90 - $28.13 per hour, based on graduation year. Overtime may be available.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
This person will be responsible for:
- Supporting the Technical Services team by assisting with nutrition research projects and product development initiatives.
- Collecting, organizing, and managing research and performance data for internal and external trials.
- Performing data analysis and preparing summary reports to support technical and commercial decision-making.
- Conducting literature reviews and compiling scientific information relevant to animal nutrition and feed ingredients.
- Assisting in developing technical presentations, customer- facing materials, and internal communications.
- Completing an assigned summer project and presenting key findings and recommendations to the Animal Nutrition leadership team.
Minimum Education
- Rising Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Poultry Science, Dairy Science, Nutrition, Veterinary Science, or related field.
- Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher.
Experience Requirements
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn new software
- Possess strong Analytical, Communication (written and verbal) and Time Management skills
- Must be able to work independently or in teams

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
The environmental factors and physical requirements of this position include the following:
- Able to move freely throughout the AgriBusiness facilities to include climbing vertical heights (up to 150'), carrying tools and equipment (up to 50 pounds),
- exposure to extreme temperatures (0-100 Degrees Fahrenheit), humidity, (0-100%), noise (50db to 100db) and chemicals (MSDS sheets available).
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment.
- May be required to travel to remote AgriBusiness facilities as well as customer locations.
- Able to communicate on the telephone and use standard office equipment.
