Summary

The Contracts and Operations Specialist will provide support of operational and administrative aspects of 3rd Party Storage Handling Agreements for both Animal Nutrition & Specialty Crops Operations. This includes ensuring the quality and quantity of inventory while facilitating cost-effective warehousing solutions for our products.  Additionally, this role will coordinate with Perdue Commercial, Procurement, and Operations teams to streamline product flow to customers.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary point of contact for all 3rd party warehouses for PAB Specialty Crops and PAN.  Leading contracts of each 3rd party ensuring compliance with inventory reporting, sanitary handling/storage, and regulatory compliance.
  • Establish uniform contracting process amongst all existing and prospective 3rd party service providers.
  • Support inventory accuracy efforts across 3rd party warehouses through regular audits and reconciliation, and frequent site visits for physical inspection of inventory counts and evaluation of warehouse and storage conditions.
  • Develop and maintain a cohesive and comprehensive 3rd party management program, tracking costs, services, and performance.
  • Collaborate with procurement, sales, and operations teams to ensure accurate demand forecasting and inventory planning.
  • Address and resolve inventory-related issues promptly to avoid disruptions to operations.
  • Collaboration with leadership to support development and implementation policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency within external warehouses.
  • Act as a liaison to streamline communication between Quality Assurance, Commercial, Operations and Procurement teams.
  • Load invoices for payment on the finance system, ensuring accuracy and timely processing to support financial and operational workflows.

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.

Experience Requirements

  • 1 – 3 years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in manufacturing operations and technologies.
  • Knowledge of safety programs and requirements.
  • Understanding of environmental programs and requirements.
  • Experience supporting quality assurance programs.
  • Understanding of commodity markets.
  • Understanding of standard software applications.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Required travel: 25% of the time.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

  • Position is sedentary and mobile. Will require working in an office, lab and in the pilot plant.
  • May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. Capable of lifting 50lbs.
  • May need to access files, supplies, and equipment.
  • Work activity that is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment.
  • When in a plant environment:
    • Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
    • May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
    • May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
    • May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
    • May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
    • Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
