Summary
The Systems Analyst formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to develop or modify moderately complex information systems. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Designs, codes, tests, debugs, documents, and maintains those programs. This position will support Perdue’s off the shelf applications and custom integrations. The ideal candidate must have high-energy and highly motivated self-starter; the ability to self-manage and complete projects and tasks, on-time, with little supervision; and ability to collaborate with cross functional teams and at all levels of the organization.
This position is based at the AgriBusiness complex in Salisbury, MD.
The salary range for this position is $63,000 - $95,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Acquires knowledge of existing applications for troubleshooting and user questions to be an asset to the user community. In addition, provides twenty-four hour/day, seven days/week on-call support of assigned systems.
- Analyze and organize raw data, building data systems and pipelines to prepare data for analytic needs
- Combine raw information from different sources to promote building of algorithms and prototypes for analysis and reporting
- Codes, tests, configures, and documents programs and systems from detailed specifications using systems development methodology (SDM) and structured programming practices to produce reliable programs.
- Works as a team member in the development, enhancement and support of applications that meet or exceed customer requirements.
- Maintains technical proficiency by training and using the latest techniques in developing and maintaining systems.
- Understand business goals and requirements associated with IT strategic roadmap. Responsible to determine system solutions to achieve goals of the IT strategic roadmap in subject area.
- Document and maintain business requirements for applications in subject area.
Minimum Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Information Systems or Computer Science.
Experience Requirements
- 3+ Years minimum IT or equivalent experience with application systems used within manufacturing, distribution or logistics.
- Technical Skills in VB.Net, Crystal Reports, Python, Dataiku, and/or Power BI.
- Use SQL within platforms like Power BI, Tableau, or Excel.
- Strong SQL knowledge to determine the differences between MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, etc.
- Experience in MS Office, proficient in Excel and SharePoint.
- Experienced in writing technical documents such as business requirement specifications, function specifications, and training documentation.
- Knowledge in systems analysis, programming and systems development methodology.
- Thorough understanding of Project Methodologies (Traditional/AGILE), code reviews and version control (Git).
- Possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; as well as communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
- Understanding of project management principles and the ability to contribute to project planning and execution.
Experience Preferred
- Master's degree is a plus.
- Understanding of Supply Chain processes.
- Experience with Commodity Trading and Risk Management (CTRM).
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
- Primary work location: Salisbury, MD
- Ability to work at a desk for long periods of time in an office environment
- Position is primarily sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings
- May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another
- May need to access files, supplies and equipment outside of immediate work area
- Primary work environment is in an office setting with open-partitioned, cubicle environment.
- Frequent use of a computer workstation
- Some lifting up to 50 pounds (moving equipment as needed)
- Some minor travel for trade shows and conferences (approved travel expenses will be covered per Perdue Travel Policy)
- Some minor exposure to workshop conditions at ambient temperatures and weather (maintenance garages, truck yard, and other such environments in support of troubleshooting and project implementation)
- Some travel to manufacturing plant sites to support strategic projects.
- Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
- May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degree to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
- May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
- May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
- May be exposed to all chemicals found in poultry, food and processing plant.
- Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company
