Summary
Perdue AgriBusiness, LLC, has an immediate opening for a Waste Water Operator at our Wastewater facility in Salisbury, MD.
This position is responsible to operate and maintain a Wastewater Treatment Facility, Potable Wells, Irrigation and Storm Water System meeting local, state and federal regulations.
The working schedule for this role is 11a to 11p
(Work Tues, Wed, Sat, Sun, Mon one week then Thurs, Fri the next week. It’s a 48 hour week then a 36 hour week)
This position has a target wage of $18.00 - $27.00 per hour, based on shift, experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance). Overtime may be available.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate the Wastewater Facility, Potable Wells, Irrigation and Storm Water System within local, state, and federal regulations
- Attain a Maryland Wastewater Class 5-I License as required by MDE
- Perform all necessary calculations for process control, chemical feed and nutrient loadings
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on assigned wastewater equipment
- Perform Laboratory Analysis on wastewater samples and adjust plant and chemical flow rates as required to ensure water quality is in compliance
- Perform housekeeping duties (cleaning, painting, sweeping, etc) in assigned areas
- Collect NPDES samples
- Compile, complete and maintain records relative to wastewater operations
- Perform all work within safety guidelines established by local, state and federal agencies as well as company policies
Minimum Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
Experience Requirements
- 2 years experience in a mechanical, production or related field.
- Ability to attain a Maryland 5-I (Industrial) Wastewater License. Temporary license will be attained within the first 90 days of employment and the requirements of the temporary license are (45 Class hours and Sit in for Maryland Testing within 3 years of Temporary License issuance).
Experience Preferred
- Advanced technical training preferred.
- State wastewater license preferred.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. May need to access files, supplies and equipment. When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company. May need to climb ladders. May require standing for several hours at a time.
