Summary
We are looking for a Manager Public Relations Communications to join the Perdue Specialty Meats and Emerging Brands Communications team to help communicate the unique stories of our suite of premium brands: Niman Ranch, Pasturebird, Full Moon, and Coleman Natural. The Manager Public Relations Communications will have a solid understanding of media outreach and communications, with seasoned skills to elevate brand visibility, thought leadership, and mission-driven values. Strong focus should include building brand awareness, authentic storytelling, and driving branded revenue growth across priority channels.
The individual should be well versed with crafting and pitching brand stories and product features, national initiatives, local news, thought leadership pieces, and additional brand stories. Candidate creates and maintains connections with key reporters across targeted news outlets for earned media storytelling – supporting a proactive and reactive PR strategy.
This person will work in close collaboration with cross-functional teams to identify compelling media pitches for the brands and align with company goals.
The salary range for this position is $84,000 - $126,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Crafting a strategic brand and product editorial calendar.
- Developing creative communications activities to support product features, brand thought leadership, partner collaborations, award recognition, and other media opportunities.
- Writing press releases, media plans, compelling stories, and news hooks.
- Pitching and securing news with top media outlets and industry trades.
- Collaborating to plan and execute speaking opportunities for senior team, partners, chefs, and farmer spokespeople.
- Partnering with cross-functional brand peers in the development of specific digital and social content strategies.
- Managing and analyzing media metrics to define return on investment and impact.
- Identifying opportunities for thought leadership and brand expansion through earned measures.
- Collaborating with internal partners across departments and with external agencies and firms where applicable.
Minimum Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Business, or another related field or equivalent work experience in a similar role.
Experience Requirements
- 5-7 Years of experience in Public Relations.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Strength in consumer-facing/CPG media required; experience developing stories around sustainability, animal welfare and/or advocacy.
- Ability to support and prioritize across multiple brands; agency experience a plus.
- Create compelling presentations and talking points.
- Ability to demonstrate earned media ROI and impact, manage regular reporting.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong leadership, strategic thinking, communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to function in a fast-paced and evolving high-growth environment with a calm sense of urgency, patience, and fortitude.
- Experience supporting and working with teams in multiple work locations and time zones.
- Willingness to travel (25% - 35% travel).
Experience Preferred
- Master's degree a plus.
- Prior spokesperson experience preferred.
- Food/CPG or agriculture industry experience a plus.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
- Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.
- May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
- May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
- Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment.
- When in a plant environment:
- Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
- May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
- May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
- May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals found in poultry, food and processing plant.
- Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
