Summary:

Join our team as a Regional Truck Driver and play a vital role in moving our products from facility to customer. In this position, you will operate tractor-trailer combinations to pick up and deliver freight safely and efficiently across various locations. As a professional representative of the Perdue Farms brand, you will be a trusted partner in our supply chain, ensuring reliable delivery schedules, maintaining the integrity of every load, and upholding the highest standards of safety on the road.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safely maneuver and deliver or backhaul truckloads of product and materials to plants, customers, and distributors as assigned.
  • Maintain all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements, including hours of service, vehicle inspections, and the use of electronic logging devices.
  • Operate equipment in a legal and safe manner consistent with Federal, State, and Local laws, as well as company safety policies and on-board safety features.
  • Complete and submit all required paperwork, such as manifests, bills of lading, proof of delivery, and trip reports.
  • Responsible for trailer security and seal integrity, as well as verifying accurate case counts and product conditions during delivery.
  • Perform the physical process of loading and unloading products when required.
  • Transport loads outside of normal scope (location, schedule, or customer) as needed to meet business demands.

Required:

  • Valid Class A CDL license
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum of two (2) years of over-the-road tractor-trailer driving experience (refrigerated trailer experience preferred)

Preferred:

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods up to the limits established by DOT regulations.
  • Ability to lift boxes up to 40 pounds for loading and unloading.
  • Ability to withstand truck vibrations and exposure to fuel, oil, and extreme temperatures ranging from 0°F to 100°F.
  • Must be willing to be away from home domicile for extended periods as directed by management
