Summary
Perdue AgriBusiness has an immediate opening for a Grain Inspection Clerk at our Chesapeake, VA facility. In this role you will obtain, test, and grade grain samples. Also, perform housekeeping and other administrative/clerical duties as required.
The hours are rotating either being 7 AM to 7 PM or 7 PM to 7 AM shifts as scheduled by management.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Collect grain samples using automated or manual grain probe.
- Prepare grain samples for grading.
- Inspect and test grain for all factors.
- Complete grain data entry forms, contracts, receiving tickets, and other documentation as required.
- Provide customer support as required.
- Input, edit, and balance incoming truck information in GrainSmart.
- Provide training for Grain Inspector Trainees.
- Required to maintain hygienic/sanitary workspace to maintain product safety and quality.
- Perform all work within the safety guidelines established by local, state, and federal agencies as well as company policies.
- Perform daily housekeeping duties.
- Perform other task as assigned.
Minimum Education
- High School or equivalent
Experience Requirements
- 1 year of related professional experience
- Strong communication skills
- Strong math skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Knowledge of standard software applications
- Able to obtain state grain grading certification
- TWIC application is required
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
1. Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings. 2. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. 3. May need to access files, supplies and equipment. 4. Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment. 5. When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
