Summary

Join our team as a Grain Terminal Production Supervisor! In this role, you will lead and direct the activities of facility associates responsible for receiving, drying, storing, and distributing grain while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring the condition of grain is preserved, customer expectations are met, and operations run efficiently and cost-effectively. By fostering a culture of safety, training, and continuous improvement, you’ll support both internal and external customers while driving operational effectiveness and helping the facility achieve its goals.

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct activities of facility associates that receive, dry, store, and distribute grain.
  • Provide a safe working environment per federal, state, and local regulations along with agribusiness requirements.
  • Ensure service and equity of grades is provided to both internal and external customers.
  • Ensure the condition of grain is maintained and/or improved while in storage.
  • Coordinate with grain merchandising ensuring positive customer relationships and effective planning to provide for timely and efficient cost movement of grain.
  • Ensure routine and preventative maintenance is performed on all receiving and storage equipment to maximize availability and longevity.
  • Identify opportunities, synergies, and improvements to increase facility operating effectiveness and reduce operating costs including the development of capital plans and execution of individual projects according to plans.
  • Provide job-specific training, safety, and environmental training to ensure associates understand and are fully engaged in the production, safety and environmental processes that are required to meet operational and customer requirements.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of previous supervisory experience.
  • Basic knowledge of software applications.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, local and OSHA regulations. Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Required to travel to remote agribusiness facilities and customer locations.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Logistics, Business or a related discipline.
  • Previous grain handling experience.
  • Knowledge of grain receiving and storage technologies.
  • Understanding of commodity markets.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

  • Able to move freely throughout the agribusiness facilities including climbing vertical heights (0 -150')
  • Able to carry tools and equipment (0-50 lbs.)
  • May be exposed to temperatures (0-100) degrees Fahrenheit, humidity (0-100%), noise (50db to 100db) and chemicals (MSDS sheets available).
  • Must be able to wear protective equipment to include self-contained breathing apparatus.
