Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular "catch tests" where you pull carcasses off the line to weigh them, calculating the percentage of yield loss from live weight to post-evisceration weight.
  • Checking that internal organs are fully removed without damaging the meat 
  • Ensure scales are calibrated correctly throughout the shift to maintain data integrity. 
  • Identifying bruises, broken wings, or skin tears. 

Minimum Education

High School or equivalent not required but beneficial.

Experience Preferred

  • Experience in poultry processing/manufacturing environment preferred
  • Familiarity with Dressing or Evisceration departments is highly valued
  • Experience in Inspection/Quality Control

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

When in a facility environment:

  • Frequent exposure to disinfectants, detergents, and other industrial-strength cleaning agents
  • Exposure to fluctuating temperatures
  • Exposure to typical janitorial contaminants and Biohazards, especially in restrooms and locker rooms.
  • Floors may be wet or slippery during and immediately after cleaning, posing slip and fall risks
  • Must navigate concrete floors and hallways throughout the shift
  • Standing and walking required for the majority of the shift (8+ hours), covering large distances across the facility's administrative areas
  • Frequent movement is necessary for cleaning under desks, cleaning toilets, emptying lower trash receptacles, and floor care
  • Frequent pushing and pulling of heavy equipment such as vacuum cleaners, janitorial carts, and floor scrubbers
  • Frequent and repetitive movements involving hands and arms for scrubbing, wiping, dusting, and mopping
  • Must have adequate visual acuity to inspect areas for cleanliness and read warning labels on chemical containers
