Summary

Join our team as a QA Tech! we're looking for dedicated individuals who thrive in a fast paced environment and we are committed to upholding the highest quality and safety. The purpose of this position is to monitor the production processes of the facility to ensure all products meet company quality and food safety requirements during plant operations to ensure compliance with all company, regulatory and Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards. Usually works five to six days a week; hours and overtime vary due to production need, generally 6am-3pm.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Accurately conduct product reviews for compliance to include grading, packaging and weights and related. 
  2. Monitor enforces company Quality and Food Safety Policies.
  3. Perform product reviews on various products with Operations Group.
  4. Must be familiar with the facility’s Good Manufacturing Practices and Sanitation Operation Procedures and implement Corrective Actions if deviations are observed.
  5. Must continually evaluate potential for foreign material contamination while in assigned work areas.
  6. Perform other tasks and duties as directed by management to meet department and operations business need.

Minimum Education

High school or equivalent.

Experience Requirements

  • External: worked a minimum of 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer within the past 3 years in a comparable field.
  • Internal: minimum of 6 months in current position, 2 occurrences or less, no active disciplinaries.

Experience Preferred

  • Experience in food quality and/or safety.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to dust, feathers and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm. Able to stand for several hours. Work may include lifting (up to 50 lbs), reaching, bending, pushing boxes on conveyor assembly.
