Summary
As a Perdue Garage Manager Fleet Maintenance, you will lead and inspire a team of skilled technicians while keeping our fleet operating at peak performance. This role combines hands on leadership with strong organization and communication, as you coordinate, schedule, and review preventive, mechanical, and electrical maintenance activities. You will play a key role in building a high performing team by hiring, training, and developing technicians, fostering strong morale, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage assigned garage staff to include hiring, training, and developing the staff to meet the needs of the department.
- Monitor associate work levels.
- Prioritize and assign work to meet customers’ needs.
- Coach and mentor technicians.
- Facility management, assuring a clean, safe, OSHA compliant working environment.
- Control repair, inventory, and labor costs.
- Ensure quality, compliance, and safety of Perdue’s assets in accordance with customer requirements, OEM specifications and DOT regulations.
- Manages the department operations to established operating budgets.
Minimum Education and Experience
- High School or equivalent.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- 3-5 years of experience in fleet maintenance management or a minimum of 3 years managing teams in an environment with strong operational performance metrics. Understanding of mechanical processes.
- The associate must be able to perform all work adhering to DOT, OSHA, and all Perdue safety and maintenance policies; including but not limited to the correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and established best safety practice.
- Understanding of standard software applications.
- Strong math, communication, analytical and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service and organizational skills.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Management.
- Class A CDL.
- Mechanical experience.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
- Able to move freely throughout the garage facility to include climbing vertical heights (0 - 50'), carrying tools and equipment (0-100 pounds), exposure to extreme temperatures (0-100 Degrees Fahrenheit), humidity, (0 - 100%), noise (50db to 100db) and chemicals (MSDS sheets available).
- Must be able to wear protective equipment.
