Summary

Step into a hands-on role at the heart of our production process as a Food Production Mixer in the Ground Chicken department, where you help create the high-quality products our customers rely on every day. In this role, you will prepare and move raw materials by shoveling and loading the correct blends of meat into V-mags, pushing and staging them through the cooler, and operating equipment such as V-mag lifts and mixers to keep production flowing safely and efficiently. You will rotate through key positions to support team performance and ergonomic safety while maintaining a clean, organized work environment. This opportunity is perfect for someone who enjoys physical, active work, takes pride in quality, and thrives in a fast paced, team driven production setting.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 pm-4:00 am

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Travel on wet, dry concrete surface pushing empty V-mags, weighing 82 pounds, into the cooler in order to fill the V-mags with raw meat.
  • Shovel the correct mixture of raw meat, weighing 30 pounds from tanks into V-mags, by reaching and leaning 29 inches and rate 12 repetitions.
  • Push the full V-mags weighing 491 pounds and on wheels approximately 131 feet into the ground turkey room.
  • Shoveling the chicken meat.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Strong reading, communication math, writing and analytical skills.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • High School or equivalent is beneficial but not required.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

  • Longest time in a single interval is 4-8 hours and 1-3 repetitions per minute.
  • Temperature exposure is 40-50 degrees F.
  • Dampness exposure is ambient.
  • Walking/standing surfaces are wet, moist, dry, and on metal grating.
  • Chemical exposure includes chlorinated water at less than 50ppm, ammonia vapors at less than 5ppm, and dry ice handling.
  • Noise exposure is 85-89.9dB and light intensity exposure is 75-100ft candles.
  • Tools used are shovels.
  • Equipment operation is forklift.
  • Personal protection equipment/devices include hearing protection, vision protection (glasses/goggles), rubber gloves, hard hat, apron, lab coat, back support and hair net.
  • Longest interval of time spent walking is 4-8 hours with 1-3 repetitions per minute.
  • Maximum distance traveled is more than 100 ft.
  • Walking surface is dry, moist, wet, smooth, and/or uneven.
  • Longest interval of time spent standing is 4-8 hours with variable mobility.
  • Longest interval of time spent bending is 4-8 hours with 1-3 repetitions per minute.
  • Maximum angle forward is45-90 degrees, maximum angle backward is 2-5 degrees, maximum angle side is 10-20 degrees.
  • Longest interval of time spent twisting is 2-4 hours with 1-3 repetitions per minute and a maximum angle from forward is 30-60 degrees.
  • Longest interval of time spent lifting is 4-8 hours with 1-3 repetitions per minute.
  • Maximum weight lifted is more than 80 pounds with 1-3 lift repetitions per minute.
  • Starting position height of lift is 3-4 feet.
  • Final position height of lift is 3-4 feet.
  • Extension reach during lift is 18-24 inches.
  • Body positions during lift can be bending over, squatting, twisting more than 90 degrees, walking more than 20 feet.
  • Longest interval of time spent reaching is 4-8 hours with 1-3 repetitions per minute.
  • Forward distance is 18-24 inches, side distance is 10-20 degrees, and backward distance is 2-5 degrees.
  • Longest interval of time spent grasping is 4-8 hours with 1-3 repetitions per minute.
  • Objects grasped are equipment handles, hand tools (shovel), and containers.
