Summary
We are hiring a Pasture Bird Brooder Manager in Perry, GA. The Brooder Manager will provide leadership, training, and coaching and not limited to, budgeting, goal setting, interviewing, hiring, growing programs, bird health and feeding programs to meet the company’s goals and objectives
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- The ability to travel to Pasture Bird Brooder locations and travel throughout poultry houses up to 600’ long to monitor house conditions such as but not limited to ventilation, litter condition, bird health, water and feed availability.
- Develop and monitor annual operating budgets, growing programs, feed programs and other various measurements to ensure the success of the department in meeting company goals and objectives.
- Attract, train and develop competent Perdue associates as through interviews, hiring, training programs for new hires, training seminars on current programs and career development.
- Have the ability to provide leadership, training and coaching to all subordinates and producers to ensure all Perdue policies and growing programs are being met.
- Act in a professional and courteous manner at all times upholding professional and positive work image for self and Perdue Farms.
- Comply and follow company requirements regarding biosecurity, food safety and poultry welfare programs and policies at all times.
Minimum Education
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in agriculture related field is preferred.
Experience Requirements
- 3 years of direct Brooder experience.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
- Exposed to temperatures ranging from 60 degrees to 105 degrees and humidity up to 100%.
- Work in a wet, damp, dusty (chick down) environment.
- Exposed to chemicals, drugs and vaccines to be covered in MSDS training and hazardous communication training.
- Must use protective equipment as required. Be able to travel throughout the operation.
